The new Northmont High School replaces an existing high school on the same site. The school is located on a campus that includes a community auditorium, a middle school and numerous athletic facilities, all of which had to remain open during construction. Careful planning and numerous phases were required to implement the project.
Co-funded through a partnership with the Ohio Schools Facilities Commission, the school is designed to accommodate up to 1800 students and includes:
• A full-service kitchen
• Two gymnasiums
• Multi-purpose athletic rooms
• 88 classrooms

The building is organized around a central corridor – Thunderbolt Way – which includes small group areas, performance spaces, access to exterior classrooms and student dining. Academic areas are organized by department and include extended learning areas and small group rooms for student-centered learning activities.
Renovation of the 35,000-square-foot community auditorium was undertaken as part of the project. This included new seating and finishes as well as redesigning adjacent spaces to accommodate the school’s ROTC program.
